Religious Education

Welcome to the Religious Education page. We hope to provide you with information about religious education offered throughout the Archdiocese, through our schools and through SPRED (Special Religious Education) and by the many parish teams involved in varied ministries such as sacramental preparation and children’s liturgy, all of which greatly support the work of our schools and our families.

Brid is the Director of the Religious Education office and the Archdiocesan Advisor for Roman Catholic Primary Schools. Brid is available to support schools, parishes and local authorities in all aspects of their work which pertains to Catholic Education.

Support & Resources are available in the following areas:

  • Continuing Professional Development of staff
  • Initial teacher development of Probationers
  • Sacramental Preparation
  • Guidance on school provision and admissions
  • Staff retreat opportunities
  • Liaison with local authorities in partnership with church representatives
  • Policy formulation and development

Irene provides administrative support to the diocesan Director of Religious Education, the Approval Coordinator, the Secondary School Advisor and the SPRED coordinator.
